We talk about African opportunity. Then we go and build it.

African Leverage started as a conversation — about commerce, opportunity, tourism, and the things this continent could do if the tools actually fitted. That conversation still runs on TikTok and YouTube.

Why we build

Most software that reaches Africa was designed for somewhere else and adapted afterwards. It assumes mostly bank payments, fast internet connection, access to a laptop, a postal address, etc. The adaptation is usually the part that breaks: the sign-up nobody can complete, the payment method nobody has, the app too heavy for the phone in your pocket.

We start from the other end. What do people here actually have, and how do they actually behave? The answer is usually WhatsApp, Mobile Money, and a phone that is already full. So that is what we build for.

How we work

  • Meet people where they are. AfriLev Study lives inside WhatsApp because that is where Ugandan students already are. No download, no account, no new password to forget.
  • Say what is true, including the unflattering part. Our practice is multiple choice, and multiple choice is not the written UACE or CPA paper. We say so on the product pages.
  • Check the work. Every question is our own, written for the published syllabus and read in full before it ships, and every calculation is checked by computer against its own numbers before a student ever sees it.
  • Charge plainly. One price per subject, thirty days. Nothing renews behind your back.

What we are building

AfriLev Study is live: exam practice on WhatsApp for A Level (seven subjects, written for Uganda's new competency-based curriculum) and CPA Level I (all six papers) — over 30,000 original questions in all.

Mileage Confirmation is coming: a way to check the true recorded mileage of a car imported from Japan, on WhatsApp, before money changes hands.

SenteZo is in development: personal finance built for how money actually moves here — daily expenses and mobile money.

African Leverage began as an educational community — short videos on personal finance, data and business, made for entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts across Africa, on TikTok and YouTube. The audience kept asking the same kind of question, and the answer kept being the same: the information exists, it is just not reaching the people who need it in a form they can use.

I founded African Leverage to stop explaining the gap and start closing it — sharing explainer videos and building practical solutions to the problems we face across the continent.

Financial literacy and decent education should be available and accessible to everyone.

The company

African Leverage is the brand of AfriLev Solutions Limited, a company registered in Uganda and based in Kampala. We are small, and we would rather ship one thing that genuinely works than five that nearly do.
