Why "Mental Budgeting" is Keeping You Broke

Keeping your budget in your head feels easy, but it is the number one reason you run out of money before the end of the month.
We all do it. You get paid, you mentally subtract your rent, estimate your groceries, and assume the rest is yours to spend. This is called "mental budgeting," and it is a financial trap. Human brains are notoriously bad at tracking small, frequent expenses.
That daily samosa, the quick boda ride, or the impulsive online purchase never make it into the mental math. To truly gain control of your cash flow, you have to move the numbers out of your head and into a system.
Whether it is a physical notebook, a complex spreadsheet, or a dedicated app, giving every single shilling a specific job before the month begins is the only way to build lasting wealth. Stop guessing, and start tracking.
